John Burnham
Drums,
Vocals
Hello everyone, here’s a quick overview of my history. I was born in Detroit in 1965, I grew up in Roseville and started playin’ drums in 5th grade. I had a really cool band in high school with some buddies called Assasin. In 1985, I left that band to be the front man for a popular rock group called Ezra. About 2 years later I went to Broadcasting School and got into video and computer graphics to make a real living. From 1988 to 1990 I was the lead singer of an Iron Maiden Tribute band called Seventh Son (nope, no relation!) Once the 90’s came along, I left Harpo’s and the Ritz behind, stopped screaming heavy metal and started singing more corporate rock to make money. Around 1994, Kenny Keelin and I even had a Journey Tribute band! After 1995 I went back to playing drums full time. I joined a band called the Sofa Kings in 1999 and played with them for the next 3 years. Other groups I’ve played in for various periods of time were The Hippies, Disguise, In Deep, Bus Stop, Hunter Brucks, Backlash and The Groove. Beyond bands, I have also performed in a few community theater plays. Most notably Jesus Christ Super Star where I played Judas 2 separate times. Additionally, I am married and I have 4 awesome children ranging from 4 to 19, and at my day job I create photorealistic 3D animations for General Motors Interactive Web and Video Training.
In 2007, The Dream asked me to join their lineup and I could not turn it down. Replacing any long standing drummer is always a challenge, but I plan on bringing some new things to the table. ;)
